Dahlgren School first opened its doors in 1921. Our school is recognized throughout the Navy for providing an outstanding education to students in pre-k through eighth grade. In addition to rigorous academics, students enjoy a variety of classes in music, art, physical education, drama, foreign language, and health. Support services in special education, gifted and talented, speech/language, and counseling are provided to students as needed. All classrooms are equipped with twenty-first technology and peripherals. Individual needs of students are well served by our small pupil/teacher ratios, by our support staff, and through a wide range of facilities, including a state-of-the-art media center, science labs, auditorium with stage, and large gymnasium.
Activities include yearbook, garden club, student council, National Junior Honor Society, basketball, volleyball, soccer, cheerleading, Junior Student-2-Student, spelling bee, drama and music programs, before-school running club and after-school sports club.
The Dahlgren School faculty is comprised of a dedicated group of caring professionals. With a supportive administration, involved parents, and base backing, we enjoy a dynamic "Tiger" environment.
